"You'll have to go far to find a lake and surrounding area as beautiful and serene as Echo Lake.
A small wild fire started yesterday from a lightning strike close to Echo Lake Resort. BC Wildfire actioned the fire immediatley and are working to keep it under control. At this time we are not on evacuation alert or an order. Helicopters and ground crews are actively fighting the fire.
At this time there are no major concerns for the resort or its customers. We will continue to update you throughout the next couple of days.

Please be advised that the Kamloops Fire center is banning all category 1 fires which includes but not limited to:
Campfires. As of Friday July 10th, 2026 at noon Echo Lake will be under a campfire ban. Pleas bring a propane campfire or you can rent one at the store.
