April here, interrupting our regular feed to share something that has really upped my productivity. I’ve seen standing desks before, and I’ll be the first to admit that I thought it would be annoying. I work for HOURS a day at my computer, so why would I want to stand?! Then I came across the Standsome desk. I didn’t hate that it was gorgeously designed and happen to fit my aesthetic perfectly. So why not?! As a mom to 4, homeschool teacher, and business owner, I am constantly being pulled in all directions. I was finding it really hard to sit down and get any work done because of the multiple interruptions. Fast forward to setting my Standsome desk up in between my living room and dining room (the places I find myself the most). As crazy as it might sound, I have found my productivity has tripled! I wake up and grab my morning coffee and am then able to walk up to my desk and answer any important emails. I sit and relax on the couch (it takes me about an hour to truly wake up) and plan out my day. Once the kiddos get up and get started on school, I start doing some editing or creating timelines for our couples. When the kids have a question I don’t get as agitated about having to GET UP from my chair and go help. I find I’m able to easily go start a new load of laundry or get a meal going and the breaks (the ones I wouldn’t allow myself to take before) are a God send!! My FAVORITE part is that I can put my beats in and enjoy a dance while releasing some endorphins, which we all need during this hectic season! I cant 100% explain why or how this works, but I can say that it has seriously changed things for me. I never thought something as simple as standing to work would change everything. And we can’t forget to mention the amazing neck/back relief from not sitting or leaning all day! If you’re still reading this I should probably also let you know that sitting is also an option with the Standsome desk.
