LAST SPRING, THE SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF LAVAL INVITED, UNDER THE INITIATIVE OF JEAN VERVILLE, ARCHITECT AND PROFESSOR, CHRISTOPHER DESSUS, ARCHITECT, SCENOGRAPHER, PUBLISHER OF PAF ATELIER + PLI ÉDITION PARIS, TO CO-CREATE A WORKSHOP ENTITLED « LES CHAMBRES. AIR », ACCOMPANIED PHBM+ GROUP. THE RESULT OF THIS WORKSHOP WAS PRESENTED AS A PERFORMATIVE CONFERENCE AT COMPLETELY DESIGN IN THE SPRING OF 2025 BY INDEX DESIGN Christopher Dessus/ « LES CHAMBRES À AIR » is a transdisciplinary workshop that explores the creation of a mobile and sensitive structure from inflatable materials. The choice of air as a raw material is not trivial: it makes it possible to rethink the architectural form through tension, pressure, lightness and movement. Here, air becomes both structural material and metaphor of the body - a breath that gives life to space. LAZER CUT_KIT BASHING_EXPERIMENTS
L’atelier A5JA24 sous la direction de Jean Verville architecte et professeur, présente l’exposition «16 architectures manifestes d’une contre périodicité de l’habité» à la galerie Criterium, au 371 rue du Pont.

Devant le déploiement « d’enfilade[s] bègue[s] d’individualités » (Voyer, 2021, p. 63), la disparition des terres agricoles, des milieux naturels et du patrimoine, le renchérissement affolant du logement, l’archipelisation de la ville et l’accroissement des inégalités, grandit en nous un sentiment d’anxiété doublé d’impuissance. Face à nous, la privatisation, le contrôle, l’exclusion et le mercantilisme, prennent racines par le truchement de l’architecture.
Au tournant d’une page: « Les architectes, en tant que créateurs de villes, répondent aux individus et aux groupes sociopolitiques dominants d’une culture donnée; ils sont l’instrument par lequel l’agenda social de leur client s’inscrit dans le tissu urbain. Que l’architecte choisisse ou non de l’admettre, […] tous les actes de création architecturale sont intrinsèquement politiques en ce sens qu’ils incarnent, reflètent ou contredisent une signification socialement acceptée. » (Magnuson, 1998, p.183)

Nous n’acceptons pas l’état actuel des choses les bras croisés. Nous ne nions pas notre agentivité et notre potentiel en tant que médiateurs, médiatrices. Prétendre connaître la solution serait naïf, toutefois nous reconnaissons qu’elle ne réside pas dans l’indifférence et l’immobilisme.
