It’s been a few quiet years here at WISEMAN + CROMWELL. In 2023, I started a family — and this summer, we’re expecting again! As our design work continues to evolve, it’s time to let go of some beautiful pieces to make space — both at home and in our storage.

Over the years, I’ve held onto some incredible pieces from my personal collection and project archives (you never know when you’ll need a sideboard with perfect bathroom vanity dimensions!) — but now, it’s time to make space.

So I’ve put together a special MaxSold auction with 90+ vintage treasures — iconic furniture, rare finds, styling gems, and lots of character.

It’s been a busy year so we haven’t been posting much lately but so many of our projects are getting into the finish stages and I’m sure there will be lots of photos to share soon. This kitchen was a little side project of mine that was completed earlier this year.

Our design stories often show off the best of what we do, but we’re also here for the projects that showcase the best of what we can do on a tight budget. The design for our practices thoughtful restraint, blending creativity with practicality to deliver a space that feels both intentional and beautifully refined.

We’re loving the sunshine we have been getting this spring in Ottawa. Spring time always makes us think about the decor projects we want to tackle this year. Here’s some inspo from our for creating spaces that mix vintage and new. The sofa is available for sale and you can check it out in person Pot & Pantry.

This little mid century corner was built off that OG tension pole lamp. It was a natural fit for this home to be styled in full on mid century furnishings. Sometimes people shy away from doing everything mid century for fear that your home may end up looking like its stuck in the 60s but we don't see anything wrong with embracing a classic style to the fullest. P.S. This desk is still available, DM for details.

A hardwired vintage light did not make sense in this very modern space so we added a vintage table lamp when we did the photoshoot to add some softness. The rounded curves on this lamp breaks up the hard lines in the kitchen.

Continuing the story on using lights in new renovation projects…I am obviously a fan! Here, we found two actual schoolhouse lamps to use as pendants over a peninsula. Vintage adds warmth and character to new spaces making them feel lived in and approachable. I love embracing the imperfections of vintage because it reminds you that imperfect is beautiful!

Here for ALL the vintage lamps! 🙋🏻‍♀️ We been stocking a few lately and almost always scheming to get some vintage lighting into our projects. We have a kitchen getting installed very soon and I have three vintage pendants waiting to get refinished for that, just need to pick the perfect colour.

Can we take a moment to revisit this vintage cabinet we added to the ? We also found those schoolhouse pendants from an ACTUAL schoolhouse 😍.
