Box-store bathroom cabinets are great for practical storage, but let’s be honest—they can look a bit generic and mass-produced. When I spotted this one (actually one of two rescued from the curb—scroll down our page to see the first restory!), I knew it had potential, even though it needed some serious TLC (scroll to the end to see the before shot).
We had to tackle broken legs, a damaged drawer, and a tired, outdated finish before we could even think about painting. Once all the structural repairs were complete, we got down to the finishing details.
The cabinet was painted in Fusion Mineral Paint’s Eucalyptus, followed by a layer of Driftwood Stain and Finishing Oil (SFO) over top. Taking advantage of the open working time with the stain, I created a custom starburst effect on both the front door insert and the interior back wall. To ensure it stands up to everyday bathroom use, I applied a few extra layers of satin topcoat for durable protection.
For a little extra charm, the interior of the drawer got its own glow-up with a vintage fabric liner. Finished off with new hardware and tapered wood legs, this once-discarded piece has been transformed into a truly unique, stylish storage solution!
Happy to share that this piece has officially sold and found its new home!
