Yesterday was a very long day, but I survived. The shed put up a good fight, especially the last two roof panels, but I wrestled it into submission.
One thing I want to mention to anyone who would like a shed assembled is that you need to make sure the ground is absolutely level, or things won't go together properly. When you put the doors on, if they're off level, it's the foundation that's unlevel. You can shim the floor if it’s only a little out, but if it’s more than 2.5-3 inches, you need to level your foundation. So before you start, always make sure your foundation is level.

Today, I am proceeding with a shed construction project for a client solo due to unforeseen circumstances rendering my support team unavailable, I will share photographs of the completed build later tonight.

Today was a busy one. 😅
First up, I tackled a long bookshelf for a gentleman getting ready to move. The job was to disassemble one giant unit and turn it into 3 separate movable bookshelves. I went in expecting a battle… but surprisingly, the bookshelf surrendered without much of a fight and I finished quicker than expected.
With extra time left in the day (which almost never happens), I reached out to tomorrow’s client and asked if they wanted their assembly done today instead.
Their response: “Sure!”
A few hours later, that job was done too — meaning I somehow unlocked the rare achievement of having the next 2 days free for family time. 🎉
No stripped screws, no missing hardware, and only a moderate amount of questioning my life choices… I’d call that a successful day. 🔧😂

This week has already been a bit of a mix of everything.
✔️ Assembled a steel play dome structure
✔️ Put together a wooden king-size bed frame
And this Saturday’s challenge? Taking apart one very large bookshelf and converting it into THREE separate units. No pressure… 😅
Every job is different, which honestly keeps things interesting. If you’ve got furniture, play equipment, shelving, or something half-finished sitting in a box giving you dirty looks — send JDS Furniture Assembly Service a message.
Who else has ever started an assembly project thinking, “This’ll only take an hour”?

Today we're celebrating all the incredible moms out there — the masterminds who can find anything 🔍, tame chaos 🌪️, and miraculously keep everyone alive, fed 🍕, and somewhat on time ⏰. These superhero moms don't need capes 💐👑 to save the day.
And to all the single dads juggling mom and dad duties, you're getting a hero's salute too 👏💪. You've cracked the code on doing a million things at once 🛠️, answering ridiculously hard questions 🤔, and pretending you know exactly where everything in the house is 😂.
Today's all about the parents putting in double shifts on minimal sleep ☕😴 and a whole lot of love ❤️🙌

Over the next 2–3 weeks, JDS Furniture Assembly Service has some wild projects lined up that are definitely going to test our skills… and probably our patience too. 😂
First up is a kids’ play structure that’s guaranteed to keep us busy — and trying very hard not to invent new swear words every time we pinch a finger. lol.
Next, we’ll be tackling the disassembly of a massive bookshelf for a move. Sounds simple enough, right? Nope. The client wants it transformed from ONE giant bookshelf into THREE separate bookshelves at the new location. No pressure there. 😅
And finally, we’ll be wrapping things up with an outdoor daybed and canopy assembly — because who doesn’t love a good nap in the sun? We may or may not “test” it for quality control purposes afterward. 😂
UPDATED: Because apparently we enjoy chaos, we’re also adding a king-size bed frame assembly Thursday evening.
It’s safe to say these jobs will put our expertise to the test with wonky instructions, stubborn parts, mystery hardware, and those classic moments where you stare at a piece for 20 minutes wondering, “Where in the H-E-double-hockey-sticks does THIS go?” 🤦♂️
We’ll be posting photos of the finished projects as we complete them, so follow along to see the final results!
And if you’ve got furniture sitting in boxes because:
✅ you don’t have the time
✅ you don’t have the patience
✅ or those instructions look like ancient hieroglyphics…
