Okay everyone, Santana and Lottie are available. 🥹
We would like them to ideally go together as they are bonded.

They have had their vaccinations, eating both grass and hay, love kitties and other animals, love hay being picked out of their wool, and are spotted gene carriers (Santana is solid and Lottie is mild spotted). They are not registered.

Well folks, we have a little dilemma here. More like a personal struggle. 😂
Lottie and Santana were supposed to head off to their forever home, and sadly with a tornado that touched down and went through their property has made a change of plans for the buyers.
So, do we keep them? Do we sell like proper farmer-ish people do?
If they did go, I think they would have to be together.
Also, our Esther who is 1/2 Hampshire 1/2 Babydoll is up for discussion.
She gave us two beautiful babies this year (she was our c section ewe).
She is an amazing wool producer and we have been chatting about where we want to slowly make some changes, wanting to lean more into just pure bred babydolls, and think she would do great on a hobby farm and/or as a pet.

These decisions shouldn't be as hard as they are.
But frankly, they are not just livestock to us.

On July 8th, Grandpa Farmer decided to leave this world.
He was one of the toughest men I knew and was till his last day.
To try and put into words how important he was to me and many seems to be a struggle.
Growing up, when we moved to Alberta and joined another family we didn't know, he loved us like we were always his.
He would spend hours on hours with us, didn't matter the time of day.
If we weren't out with the cows, searching or feeding milk to kittens, picking eggs out of the coop and holding chickens, meeting new calves in the spring, we would go inside to have a pop, play a game, or just spend time together.
And of course how to have a proper desert!
We shared the love of animals and taught me a depth of how love and respect is vital.
Every animal on the farm was loved and cared for,
Whether he was cuddling kittens and feeding them milk, holding his chickens he adored, or scratching his cows on the back with a pitchfork cause he knew they loved it.
All of them had names, and it always blew my mind how he would be able to tell them apart from another.
Now I know, because I am that way.
And everytime I am asked how I can tell who is who or by their blaas, I smile because I know who its from.
The time spent and the lessons learn is earned and not given.
Even when cows would leave the farm he really did have the softness forward them.
He was such a gentle, warm, and safe place for me growing up.
Something that brought me so love, and has left such a profound mark on me on who I am today.
I would not be who I am today without your impact.
I had the privilege to be able to be with him so much the past month, to say those unsaid words, to share moments of love, and laughs.
To be able to return what I never thought I'd be able to in a way that made me see the definition of love.

This past week four of our lambies went to their forever homes.
Angus, Jameson, Bonnie, and our sweet Johnny.

They are so lucky to have gone to great caring homes.
Sure missing them (and their poor mamas). 🤎

All this rain is making me appreciate the bloomed apple trees we had.
And of course took advantage of getting some sheep portraits with them. 😂
