The Modern Paintbrush

Here's a dresser I bought at an auction that I knew I wanted to keep. I removed the old shellac, sanded it and then used Danish oil with walnut stain all over. I painted the base for a little bit of contrast.

This one is a true antique from around the Victorian years. Right now it resides at my son's house in the guest room until I may decide to take it back. The drop pulls are all original.

It's that time of year when things slow down at work and I get a chance to do some projects. I just finished this dresser from 1963. It was in pretty good shape and only needed some minor fixes.

It has lovely curved drawers and dividers in the top drawer. I used all the original hardware as it is so specific to that dresser.

I used my favorite stain, dark walnut and black iron for the rest. It sold the same day I posted.

Once again, it feels like forever since I posted. I'm still working on projects and my stash, but a wee bit slower than normal.

Here's a solid maple cabinet, some people would call it a pie cabinet. I removed all the paint and stain, added new hardware, and had glass installed in the door with new hinges. It took quite awhile as there was a lot of prep involved.

Would make a great entertainment stand or in the dining room for some extra storage. Available for purchase.
