Art & Design Shop + Gallery We are a decorative arts boutique specializing in Mid Century Modern.

We offer our clients a well edited collection of unique furniture, art, lighting, modernist glass, jewellery and objects from the early 1960’s through to the mid 80’s. Colour, condition and functionality within a small space are key with all designs presented. All items have been restored in our workshop to their former glory. Rare ART 13 Waste Paper Basket designed by architect Sergio Asti (Italian 1926-2021) for Bilumen, Italy.

Could also be used as a planter or general storage bin.

Vibrant Canary Yellow colour.

Polypropylene plastic.

Made in Italy.

Circa 1970.

Marked on base.

14” high, 10” in diameter.

Excellent condition.

MINI-CARIATIDE puzzle sculpture by Miguel Berrocal (Spanish 1933-2006)

A Cariatide or Caratid, the Greek term karyatides literally means “maidens of Karyai”, an ancient town of Peloponnese.

Nickel plated 26 element sculpture with gold plated detail.
Edition 2068 of 9500.

Signed by artist.

Dated 1968-1969.

6” high, 3” wide, 1” deep. Base 2 1/4” diameter.

Excellent condition.

Collections: Museum Of Modern Art (MOMA), Hirshorn Museum & Sculpture Garden. Private Collections.

Iconic 9093 also known as the Whistling Bird kettle designed by Michael Graves (American 1934-2015)

Stainless steel with polyamide handle and bird-shaped whistle.

This is a 30th Alessi Anniversary limited edition kettle produced in 2015.

Entitled Tea Rex it also comes with a Dragon shaped whistle in a metallic copper finish.

Complete with original box.

Can also be used on an induction stove.

Made by Alessi, Italy.

Dated 1985-present.

Excellent condition.

Large CASE STUDY cylindrical planter with tripod stand made by Modernica, California, USA.

Heavy ceramic with matt Charcoal glaze and powder-coated steel stand.

Case Study Ceramics are high fired, hand-made, using a jiggering tool for shaping, and are finished on a potters wheel. None of Modernica’s ceramics are slip cast molded. The black powder-coated steel stand is 100% waterproof

Can be used interior or exterior.

19 1/2” high, 13” in diameter. Base 12” in diameter.
