Restoring, Reclaiming and Reimagining♻️

These are words that come to mind to describe a unique service that Woodshop offers to its community. The projects highlighted in the photos above all have a common thread, taking furniture that has a story and giving it new life.

Sometimes that takes the form of breaking down the original into parts and completely repurposing it into something new. This was the case in our build of where we salvaged parts of the original cafe and then transformed them into the cool contemporary slats that adorn the service counter of the new space (photo #4).

Other times our clients come to us with a important piece that was built by a family member and they want a refresh for it. As was the case for the table shown in the first photo, here we sanded down the original, refinished it and added on contemporary powder coated steel elements.

In every project there is rich and creative exchange between the clients and our team to help transform and give new life to these sentimental pieces.



Photo #2 A full breakdown of the original table right back to dimensional VG fir boards. We then glued the wood back into a surface with a Baltic birch substrate and then custom fabricated metal sleeves to attached the original legs back to the newly designed table.

Photo #3 Our client came to us with humble but very sentimental table and had us transform it into a vanity for his home. This involved fully disassembling the table planing it’s parts and re-grooving the decorative elements in the legs (after planing).

Photo #4 These fun nightstands are made almost entirely of an old solid maple bed frame that had meaning for the client. The wavy drawer fronts are from the solid maple head board that had the beautiful wavy detail originally.

Photo #6 Is a cute little cat cabinet that was built using elements of a headboard from a bed that had sentimental value for our client 😻

came to us with a very refined vision for his home office and we worked closely with him to bring it to fruition. Ben was a true dream client and we hope work with him again 🙏🏻✨

Few things make us happier than working with reclaimed wood. This big beauty of a table is made from re-sawn heritage beams from . We sand to a high grit and buff on layers of for that polished look 💎

This project was a great opportunity for us to level up and learn. The client designs museum exhibits and designed this cabinet for his home dining area.

It’s all euro ply construction that’s double primed and sanded between coats to knock down the grain. The recessed door pulls were done with a dado stack and finished with a router for the finger groove.

It hangs on 6 individual aluminum french cleats.
