For 12 years I worked a camp job - 3 weeks in and 3 weeks out, allowing me to me to explore many different regions of the north and the woods they contained during my time off. My passion started with “Diamond Willow” which few have the will or capability to harvest in the Yukon’s roughest regions, where the most stunning pieces originate. In recent years I work more with Poplar Burls. The trees I use require years of care while drying and curing to avoid damage and cracks, before using them... Each piece is coaxed from a rough tree through many hours of work. Many tools and techniques are involved in creating furniture from natural woods. My skills and knowledge continue to grow.
