Finds Furniture Company

This one’s a day late for our Women’s Day post, and it’s in honour of my (Mrs. Finds) mom, Emma Schneider (January 16, 1934 - February 2, 2025)
She was the one who gave me life, taught me the basics of being a human, how to knit and sew and make art of every imaginable kind, the importance of kindness. She loved to laugh. She loved to create beautiful things. She was kind and compassionate and had a big, generous heart. A light went out in this world when she left, but knowing she’s reunited with Dad and Pete makes it a bit easier to bear. Rest well, sweet mom. Love and miss you ❤️

This incredible clock (NFS) was made in Germany around the 1950s by the Welby Clock Co. It features an 8-day mechanism that you wind with a key (the glass front is hinged for easy access). It’s super rare.

We had it for sale back when we had our booth in Winnipeg, but took it down when we realized it only works sporadically. The mechanism needs a cleaning and conditioning, which it’s going to get eventually. We decided we couldn’t bear to part with it and so it lives in our living room now. Part of why we couldn’t let it go was the possibility that someone would buy it and then rip out that beautiful German mechanism, replacing it with a battery operated one, because that would be a travesty! We don’t feel the same about replacing old electrical mechanisms with quartz ones. That’s totally ok with us, and we even did it once. But some things are sacred. Lol!

Another incredible Kodak Brownie is hitting our Etsy shop this week. This one’s a Target Six-16 from the 1940s. It’s in beautiful condition and comes with its original box and instruction booklet.

This incredible vintage (from the 1970s) tripod plant stand was hand carved from a single chunk of wood. It features stylized leaf shaped tops and stands about 11” high when open. Use it for a plant, a decorative bowl or a large orb.

This gorgeous glass shade just hit our Etsy shop. It’s for a ceiling fixture, but we’ve seen these repurposed into plant hangers or bird feeders and they look amazing! What would you do with this beauty?

On a mild Vancouver winter day exactly 10 years ago, we tied the knot on the beach in English Bay, across from the Sylvia Hotel where our story began. I married the love of my life, the one who takes me the way I am, and has never tried to change or “fix” me. Do you know how rare that is? He’s a unicorn. And I love him just the way he is ❤️ Happy Anniversary to us!

This little beauty sold from our Etsy shop last week, but we felt like it needed a square because it’s so dang cool! It’s a Kodak Brownie from the 1930s featuring beautiful art deco graphics on the front. We still have some great vintage cameras in our shop, and are always on the lookout for more, so follow us to keep up on any new old treasures!

Coming to our Etsy shop: Swatch watch from the Centennial Olympic Games Atlanta 1996 collection, commemorating the 1928 winter Olympics in St. Moritz, Switzerland. Unworn and still in its original box, it's in excellent condition.

This classic nautical barometer and clock duo was made in Germany by Barigo in the 1980s. It features thick. heavy brass casings, hinged, with threaded clasps, a mechanical barometer, and quartz clock, all mounted on a solid piece of wood (mahogany?). It's a thing of beauty!
