AgroSpaces started in 2016 as an experiment to see how mobile technology in Africa, could improve the lives of rural communities and improve the agricultural value chain across the continent. Over time, two critical problems within the value chain where noticed, which are the lack of information for smallholder farmers in the rural areas and inappropriate support and unsustainable change. AgroSpac
es idea is to solve these age-old problems with 2 services; AgroInfo and AgroData with these services, AgroSpaces provides a platform empowering smallholder farmers and stakeholders with real-time information such as commodity prices across various markets, location specific weather information, farming best practices. Data collection and mobile surveys in order to analyze the real challenges faced by smallholder farmers and issues such as disease or crop diversification. By disaggregating this information, we work with organizations to provide appropriate support and drive sustainable change.
