Can a Media Wall Become a Product — Not a Renovation Project?
Media wall fireplaces have become an increasingly visible part of modern European interiors. But there is one question we think deserves more attention:
Why does installing an electric fireplace sometimes have to become a renovation project?
The fireplace itself can be simple to install. The media wall around it often isn't.
Framing, wall panels, wiring, TV integration and finishing usually require professional installers or contractors. That means extra cost, longer waiting times and a more complicated buying decision for the consumer.
So we have been thinking about a different approach:
What if the media wall itself could be modular?
A system that could work in two ways:
→ Integrated into a professionally designed interior project
→ Or assembled by consumers with a much simpler DIY installation process
Think modular structures, pre-finished panels, concealed cable management and fireplace modules designed to fit together — while still looking like a built-in media wall rather than flat-pack furniture.
For us, this is not simply about making installation cheaper.
It is about asking whether better product design can remove one of the barriers between wanting a media wall fireplace and actually owning one.
We are currently exploring this concept and would genuinely like to hear from fireplace brands, retailers, interior designers, installers and furniture specialists in Europe.
If you were designing a DIY-friendly media wall, what would be the biggest challenge to solve first — installation, appearance, logistics, safety, or customization?
