Baskets from rural China, late 19th to early 20th century. Handwoven bamboo bases, coated in clay to seal and protect. Once used to carry wine or oil between villages, now carrying only the traces of their journey. Cracks, wear, the quiet warping of time, all part of a form where function and beauty once moved as one.

A rare masterpiece from around 1900. This traditional coat, made from woven palm and coconut fibers, was crafted to protect fishermen and peasants working in the wet, rainy fields of South China. Its thick, durable layers provided unmatched protection against harsh weather conditions.

Used for centuries and still in use during the early 20th century, this is more than just a coat, it’s a piece of history.
