What an inspiring weekend at the Pottery Market in Höhr-Grenzhausen!

The Pottery Championship, held as part of the annual Ceramic Market, took place for the 6th time this year and brought together talented ceramic artists from all across Europe. This year's title was won by Frank Jung - congratulations!

One of the highlights of the event was that visitors also had the chance to try throwing on the pottery wheel themselves between competition rounds, experiencing the craft firsthand.

At the same time, the Wolbring Event Day on Saturday, June 6, offered even more opportunities to explore the world of ceramics. Visitors could tour kilns, paint ceramics, try pottery wheels, and exchange ideas and expertise with fellow ceramic enthusiasts and professionals.

A fantastic celebration of craftsmanship, creativity, and the ceramic community! ❤️

“Wood-fired rectangular Block”

Ceramic artist Tomasz Niedziólka wins the 2026 Diessen Ceramics Prize.
More than 70 artists applied. One piece stood apart.

Hand-shaped and fired in a traditional wood kiln, Tomasz Niedziólka’s work was praised by the jury as radical, sensitive, and beautifully reduced. Its strict geometric form is softened by a tactile, almost emotional surface — creating a powerful tension between form and material.

The subtle traces of the wood firing bring gentle gradients of color, revealing both the raw strength of the clay and the quiet life within its minimal form.
The prestigious award, endowed with €5,000 by ROHDE, was presented at the opening of the Diessen Pottery Market 2026.
A silent block. Full of emotion.

What a great time at the Pottery Market | .
A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared kind words, and made this event so special. We had so many wonderful conversations, met incredibly exhibitors, and truly had a lot of fun throughout the whole weekend.
