One of Denmark’s most remarkable collectors was the schoolteacher Erik Veistrup. Throughout his life, he built an extraordinary collection of art and ceramics, guided by curiosity, enthusiasm and a genuine love of art. He donated numerous works to institutions including Kunsten in Aalborg, CLAY Ceramic Museum, Trapholt and Museum Jorn – a testament to the significance of his collection.⁠

Before photography, there was botanical illustration. Combining scientific investigation with detailed illustrations, these publications made botanical knowledge more accessible and contributed to the development of modern botany. Every leaf, flower and stem was carefully observed and captured in extraordinary detail, resulting in works that are as fascinating today as when they were first published.⁠

For more than six decades, he dressed prominent figures such as Niels Bohr and Maersk Mc-Kinney Møller, and became particularly renowned for his signature shoulder construction – a technique so admired that fellow tailors studied it. ⁠
