Inside the kitchen of chef and concept designer

With his background as a chef, Bo naturally spends a great deal of time in the kitchen. For him, being surrounded by quality materials, thoughtful craftsmanship and functionality is an essential part of everyday life.

Once our staff kitchen at the Garde Hvalsøe showroom, this Solid kitchen in oak has found its place in Bo’s family home, where cooking, gathering and daily life unfold around it.

We visited chef and concept designer in his Copenhagen home - a home shaped by family, art, cooking and years of everyday life.

At its centre is a Garde Hvalsøe kitchen in solid oak, formerly our staff kitchen at the Copenhagen showroom and now part of Bo’s home.

At our Koshido cabinet and fronts bring a distinct rhythm to the space through their finely crafted wooden slats.⁠

Developed in collaboration with Koshido draws on Japanese references and traditional danish cabinetmaking, here set against File Under Pop’s expressive approach to colour and material.⁠

Beyond the kitchen.

Through Garde Hvalsøe Atelier, we created bespoke joinery for the Thatched Summer House, designed as a natural part of the home and its material expression.

Created in close collaboration with the project brings architecture and cabinetmaking together in one considered expression.
