In October 2020, Fredericia acquired the Danish furniture manufacturer Erik Jørgensen.

As one company under the Fredericia name, we have an exceptional combined knowledge of upholstery with incomparable insights and experience with sofa design. The Delphi sofa is elegant with an expansive feeling and a sensual, streamlined design that captures the essence of simplicity.

Delphi was designed by Hannes Wettstein, considered one of the most innovative talents of his generation. He was a highly-regarded figure in the industry, known for surprisingly simple solutions that outlasted time. An award-winning Swiss designer whose focus spanned furniture, interior design and architecture to consumer products and communications.

The Ox Chair by Hans J. Wegner is an iconic statement piece with an irrefutable presence.

A bold, sculptural chair that challenged the understated aesthetics of Danish design at the time, with its distinctive headrest referencing ox horns and its voluminous body. It demonstrates his organic, artistic approach to furniture and desire to redefine traditional seating.

In 2020 an elements edition of the EJ 220 sofa was launched on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Erik Jørgensen's first sofa the classic EJ 220 sofa. ⁠

EJ 220 was designed in 1970 by Erik Jørgensen. Today EJ 220 and EJ 220 Elements is still a part of the Erik Jørgensen collection and every sofa is created at the manufactory located in the small Danish town Tved on Funen.

Arketypen på den danske kassesofa I løbet af 1970’erne designede han EJ 220, som sidenhen er blevet en af grundstenene i Erik Jørgensen Møbelfabriks kollektion og arketypen for den klassiske danske kassesofa. Sofaen er blevet synonymt med godt håndværk og klassisk dansk design.

THE EJ 220 DESIGNED BY FOUNDER ERIK JØRGENSEN

In 1970 Erik Jørgensen designed the EJ 220, which later became one of the foundations in the collection at Erik Jørgensen, as well as becoming the archetype for the classic Danish box sofa.
