كيف أعرف نوع جنيني؟
ربما سمعتِ الكثير من حكايات الأمهات والجدات التي تتنبأ بنوع الجنين، ويمكن أن تكوني صادفتِ بعضها منذ بداية حملك، لكن لا تتعجبي عندما تعرفين أن معظمها ليس صحيحًا.

تعتمد هذه التوقعات على شكل البطن مرتفعًا أو منخفضًا، أو الرغبة الشديدة في تناول الطعام الحلو أو المالح، لكن هذه الطرق لم تثبت صحتها. هناك طريقة أخرى يُقال أنها تتنبأ بنوع الجنين، وهي عن طريق قياس ضربات قلب الطفل داخل الرحم، قد يكون معدل ضربات البنت أعلى من الولد. ولكن بعد اختبار هذه النظرية طبيًا ، تبين أن نبضات قلب الجنين تتغير في مختلف مراحل الحمل. لذلك لم تظهر أي صلة بين معدل ضربات القلب و نوع الجنين.

تحليل شكل جمجمة الجنين من صور الموجات فوق الصوتية، يعتبر إحدى الوسائل الغير مثبت صحتها علميًا. وتعتمد هذه النظرية على شكل رأس الجنين وفكه، إذا كان الرأس مدبب والفك مستدير، فهذه دلالة أن الجنين لبنت، أما إذا كان الفك مربعًا والرأس منحدرًا، فهي علامة الولد (الصبي). ومع ذلك، لا يوجد دليل على صحة هذه النظرية، وهي مجرد إحدى نظريات الأمهات والجدات ليس أكثر.

الطرق المثبت صحتها ودقتها لمعرفة نوع الجنين أثناء الحمل هي: التصوير بالموجات فوق الصوتية (السونار)، والذي يظهر منطقة الجهاز التناسلي لطفلك، أو فحص السائل المحيط بالجنين، أو سحب عينة من المشيمةللكشف عن أي عيب جيني في الجنين(CVS).

عادةً، يتم إجراء هذا التحليل في حالات الخطر المتزايد لوجود خلل في الجنين، ويتم عمل هذا الاختبار بغرض معرفة نوع الجنين فقط لو كان هناك احتمال إصابة الطفل بحالة وراثية خطيرة بناءاً على نوعه.
بالنسبة لسحب عينة من المشيمة (CVS)، يتم بين الأسبوع الـ 11 والـ 14، ويستخدم لتحديد نوع الجنين عندما يكون هناك احتمال لوجود مشكلة خطيرة لها صلة بنوع الطفل.

كل ما سبق هو التقليدي والمتعارف عليه أما الحديث في عالم الطب والتحاليل الطبية فهو اختبار Panorama غير الجراحي قبل الولادة الذي يستخدم عينة دم بسيطة من الأم ويحدد جنس الجنين في فترة مبكرة جداً وهى تسعة أسابيع من الحمل.

هذا التحليل متوفر فقط في معامل ابن حيان ومنها يرسل إلى شركة Natera في كاليفورنيا التي تعد الأولي والفريدة في تحاليل الفحص الجيني، وتصل دقة نتيجة التحليل إلى 99 %.
