"La construcción de un país" is one of the exhibitions at the recently inaugurated Casa de la Arquitectura in Madrid, which sums up the architectural evolution of Spain between the Transition and the present day. The curator Moisés Puentes has focused on those works that have marked the recent history of Spanish architecture, both for the quality and uniqueness of their proposal and for the legacy they have left in other works and in later generations.

Among the 65 models and as many photographs of works we can find the Badalona Courthouse built in 1991.

This summer Fundació Toni Catany hosted "Qüestions d'arquitectura" a series of lectures around the artistic production that share the disciplines of photography and architecture curated by Josep Lluís Mateo. We had the presence of top-level speakers linked to architecture from different perspectives:

📍George Arbid, is an architect and also founding member and director of the Arab Architecture Center in Beirut where has conducted research on modern architecture in Lebanon and has lectured widely.

📍Aldo Amoretti is graduated in architecture, but in 2005 he started working as an architectural photographer, collaborating with several internationally renowned architects

📍Carles Enrich is an architect running since 2013 Carles Enrich Studio where he develops projects that reach the entire habitable territory, from the domestic sphere to the landscape.

📍Laurent Stalder is since 2006 professor at the Institute of History and Theory of the ETH Zurich. His main focus is the history and theory of architecture from the 19th to the 21st century.

Thanks to all of you for your commitment and passion!

A pleasure to participate in The New Together spreading the project of Toni Catany. A clear example of Spaces-Architectures that re-invent themselves by transforming. Architectures that change their uses and ways of being to accommodate new desires and needs.

Toni Catany International Photography Centre finally opens its doors!
At last the walls are inhabited and the artist's legacy comes to life.
JosepLluís Mateo has been responsible for transforming three houses located on Carrer del Convent, the house of the photographer Tomàs Monserrat and another called sa Trinxa, and Toni Catany’s own house on Carrer Cardenal Rossell, into this international photography center.
