One more week to visit the exhibition Curly Birch - the Tree Pressed by the Devil at the Craft Museum of Finland, on display until 30 August 2026.

Explore the fascinating world of curly birch from its history and folklore to contemporary design and see my Forest Glow Lights on display as part of the exhibition.

I’m looking for a location for a small Tulipuro pop-up or collaboration in South Finland for the autumn and/or Christmas season.

I’m interested in collaborating with a design shop, concept store, gallery or similar space where I could present a small, curated selection of Tulipuro products, for example, a smaller piece of furniture, wall elements or Forest Glow Lights.

The idea could be a short-term pop-up, a guest designer presentation, or another flexible collaboration. I’m open to different formats and would be happy to discuss a commission-based arrangement or other options.

About Tulipuro
Tulipuro is a Finnish design studio and carpentry workshop based in Karkkila. I design and make furniture and products combining clear, geometric forms with Finnish natural materials, particularly birch, birch bark and reclaimed wood.

I'm grateful to see my Forest Glow lights featured at the Craft Museum of Finland as part of the exhibition "Curly Birch - The Tree Pressed by the Devil."

Recently I had the chance to visit the exhibition in person, and it was wonderful to see the thoughtful presentation and the story of curly birch brought to life. This remarkable Finnish material, known for its unique grain and durability, has inspired craftspeople and designers for generations.

Traditional Japanese Carpentry in Tokyo

One of the highlights of my trip was a visit to Inoue Hamono , a shop specializing in traditional Japanese hand tools for carpentry, which also displayed examples of high-quality furniture.

A visit to the Edo Taitō Traditional Crafts Museum provided an overview of traditional carpentry as well as ceramics, jewellery, and glassmaking. Visits to various traditional wooden buildings, such as temples and shrines, completed my research into traditional woodworking.
