The northern pinewood, nobility of the evergreens.
Slowly-grown, close-grained northern wood is the best raw material for construction. It is valued particularly for its exceptionally large share of heartwood, from which the lasting, rot-proof timber is made of.

A Tiny Carbon Footprint
The lifespan of a wood product is long and the energy charges of the manufacturing process are small. Working the log into building material consumes considerably less fossil fuels than the manufacturing of brick, plastic or steel. Honkamajat takes environmental issues into account at all stages of planning and production, and utilizes the raw material to the last bit. The wood waste produced during the production process is utilized as thermal energy for the factory in the winter, and sold in the summer for the production of pellets used in heating boilers.
