LOGISTICS HUB IN CANTON VALAIS, SWITZERLAND
In the last months, SCAPE Architecture worked on the competition project for the Swiss company GENEDIS headquarters: a logistics hub comprising warehouses, offices and exhibition areas located in Fully, in the heart of an exceptional alpine landscape in canton Valais. Our proposal was a new opportunity to develop our research on productive buildings, their impact on either dense urban or outstanding landscape environments.

VILATTE HEADQUARTERS COMPLETED IN MASSY
In 2017, SCAPE has been appointed by Etablissements Georges Vilatte, a family-owned timber trading company to design their new headquarters in Massy Europe Business Park.
The area is part of the great development of Massy, in the south-west of Paris, overseen by Paris Sud Aménagement, one of the leading Region Ile-de-France urban planners.
It embodies its ambition to create a new business park model, in which industrial and logistics buildings are defined by high-quality architecture, surrounded by a dense landscape.

Our project is therefore a building that goes beyond the image of a traditional industrial warehouse. The building echoes the Cartesian composition of the Business Park and is materialised by large slender wooden porticoes punctuating all the facades.
The choice of timber as a structural material is a nod to the customer’s activities. It is also the best answer to the program, requiring free of obstacles, large-scope storage spaces, and to the ambitions of Paris Sud Aménagement aiming to obtain environment certification for tertiary buildings.

5 years later, the building is completed: a long journey, during which SCAPE has been in charge of every step of the process, from the concept through the different design phases, the contractors choice, the construction site supervision. This continuity, and the architect-owned management of the project, is once again the key to the successful achievement.
