The method used at Cabinet Galith Portal was created by Galith Portal, sworn translator and interpreter since 1993. After moving to several different countries as a child, she was forced to learn many different languages very quickly in order to integrate herself among her peers. She was forced to learn 5 languages at the same time, as quickly as possible. After studying literature and linguistics
, as well as the pedagogy associated with language acquisition, she pursued a successful career in translation and interpreting. Goliath Portal has now decided to share her proven method with other language learners. Over the years, Galith Portal realised that while language learning is easy, a method is necessary in order to succeed. The proven techniques she uses have been tested on friends and family, young children and the not-so-young. Everyone who has tried it has succeeded in their personal objectives. Classes meet in small groups of 5-10 and work in a round-table setting to foster creativity and learn English from bilingual and native speakers. The focus of our classes is to improve oral and written vocabulary. Learners will gain confidence in their vocabulary and syntax, which will then facilitate the fluency of spoken English. Our teachers are trained in language acquisition and pedagogy. They have taught both English and French in the United States and in France. Their unique abilities come together to help students understand English by immersing themselves in the language.
