ATITHI DEVO BHAVA is a Sanskrit phrase which means “Guest is divine” & PAHUNCHAR means “hospitality”in marathi. We Indians belong to a tradition where guests are treated with the same devotion, love & respect we set aside for God! It is not unusual or surprising when people drop in just like that without any notice or just stay back for lunch/dinner& full meal is prepared within minutes for them.

"Athidhi devo bhavah" (ADB), or 'The guest is God' is the Indian tourism ministry's version of Peter Drucker's customer satisfaction slogan, 'The customer is king'. This is a Sanskrit verse taken from ancient Hindu scriptures which codified the social customs and cultures evolved by learned and wise people which later on became "code of conduct" for Hindu society.
