❓️ The EPPO Reporting Service is a free monthly newsletter on events of phytosanitary concern (e.g. new pest outbreaks, new host plants, new diagnostic methods). It focuses mainly on regulated pests (including invasive alien plants), as well as on emerging pests that may present a risk to the EPPO region.

📅 On 27 May, two EPPO Scientific Officers, Charlotte Trontin and Yassine Aoutil, participated in the 7th Annual Workshop of the European Reference Laboratory for Fungi and Oomycetes, which was held online.
➡️ During the workshop, Yassine Aoutil presented updates on EPPO activities in the field of mycology.

This week, two EPPO Scientific Officers took part in the Conference “Invasive Species as a Potential Threat to Russia’s Biological Security: Challenges and Risks”, organized in Moscow by the NPPO of the Russian Federation and the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Rob Tanner presented the role of EPPO in ensuring phytosanitary security in agriculture, forestry, and uncultivated natural areas, with particular emphasis on invasive alien plants, which were a key focus of the conference.
Dmitrii Musolin provided an overview of EPPO’s work on forest quarantine pests.
On the conference website (https://conference-invasia-vniikr.ru/), those interested can follow the sessions and access the programme, the book of abstracts, and video recordings of the presentations.

📢 Pre-registration is now open to the EPPO and NEPPO Workshop on Pest Reporting in November 2026.
➡️ The objectives of this Workshop are to improve the understanding of pest reporting obligations including pest status determination, share experience, and discuss pest reporting procedures and tools.

The EPPO Executive Committee has met this week in EPPO headquarters in Paris. They prepare the work for Council (both financial & technical aspects).
