BRAZIL EMBASSY VISIT 🇧🇷

On 27th March 2026, JDI France had the privilege of visiting the Brazilian Embassy in Paris.

We had the opportunity to explore a wide range of topics, from Brazilian foreign policy and multilateralism, to Brazil-France scientific and higher education cooperation.

Here are a few key insights from our visit and exchange:

✨ Brazil has a strong multilateralist tradition: favouring dialogue and international law over unilateral approaches.
✨2025 marked 200 years of diplomatic relations between Brazil and France giving extra momentum to the collaboration.
✨ France is Brazil’s main European partner in academic/scientific cooperation with the CAPES-COFECUB programme : a support for inter-university partnerships and doctoral and postdoc exchanges.
✨ The Brazilian embassy’s role in education is to handle the day-to-day researcher mobility and support for Brazilian students in France but also coordinate joint academic programs and scholarships.

✨ Build strong support systems and be that support for others
✨ Say yes to opportunities that come your way
✨ Careers are marathons, not sprints so think long-term

A huge thank you to our remarkable speakers for sharing their journeys and insights: Delphine O, Silvana Koch-Mehrin, and Yasmina Benbrahim. We are also especially grateful to Arancha González, Dean of the Paris School of International Affairs, for joining and enriching the discussion. 💪🏽

VISIT TO THE IEA ⚡️

« Data doesn’t lie. Statistics is the bread and butter of our work. »

On 12th March 2026, JDI France had the privilege of visiting the International Energy Agency (IEA).

We were honoured to meet and exchange with Curtis BRAINARD and Blandine BARREAU.

We had the opportunity to explore a wide range of topics, from the IEA missions and governance, to the critical minerals in the age of electricity and its global engagement with world leaders.

Here are a few key insights from our visit and exchange:

⚡️The IEA central mission is to help countries provide secure, sustainable and affordable energy for all through the sharing of authoritative data, analysis, and policy recommendations.

⚡️The IEA strategy relies on three core pillars: an open-door policy; an expanded energy security and a greater focus on cleaner energy technology.

⚡️ The Governing Board is the decision-making body of the IEA composed of senior representatives from member countries with an autonomous budget and governance from OECD.

⚡️ The IEA succeeded in mobilising $2.2 billion of financing and investments at the Summit on Clean Cooking in Africa to achieve universal access to clean cooking.

Thank you very much to the IEA for having us!
