Test fitting the wedged mortise and tenon and making sure everything fits snuggly before final assembly.

Quite a few unusual and challenging bits of joinery in the base of this table but I love how it’s starting to take shape.

Big, chunky joinery is going into this sculptural outdoor dining table currently taking shape in the workshop.

What started as a conversation and a quick pen-and-paper sketch is now being realised at full scale — and what a scale it is.

Made from solid 100mm-thick Iroko, this piece is commissioned to become part of a newly renovated home and garden in London.

Limed oak alcove cabinet

This bespoke oak alcove cabinet features shaker style doors and a limed wax finish, worked into the open pores of the wood grain to create a soft, pale tone and highlight the natural texture of the oak.

In this case the client chose to match the finish to an existing piece. The two lower drop front doors open downwards and each has a magazine rack fitted to the back including a door stay to hold them in place when open.

I used this thumb mould detail to finish the edge on this solid oak table top. I often keep the edges quite simple but for this projects it needed something a bit different. And I quite like it!

This bespoke boot room cabinetry is made from painted Tulip with an Oak veneered interior to fit an alcove.

Painted single panel shaker-style doors and dark bronze hardware help to blend in the cabinetry with the surrounding architecture.

Completed as part of a wider renovation by .architects I enjoyed working on this project with the client and Architects.

This photo shows the CLIVE stools in front of the student accommodations where I salvaged the materials used to create them. Made from repurposed student bed legs that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill, I reused these beautifully curved wooden components to give them a new lease of life. This image was captured shortly before the demolition of these buildings and around 250 bedrooms.

As part of a project with University, I designed and made the CLIVE stool to breathe new life into discarded student furniture.

An item made from reused wood can’t be mass-produced forever. That’s why each CLIVE stool is stamped on the underside with a unique number, telling a story of reuse.

CLIVE Stools are made from the wooden components of student beds rescued during a large scale university refurbishment in Oxford and transformed into new seating.
