Ive decided to put Rentacampa.com up for sale

before I start, THIS WILL NOT EFFECT ANYONE BOOKED IN THIS YEAR. as it won't be for sale until the end of the season, but i want to start advertising it soon and the most important bit first is informing you lot 👍🏻👍🏻.
One thing I need to stress is, whether the business sells or not, Rentacampa.com will not disappear, as I won't let it. Read on for my plans (this maybe a long post) but not to long
So im sure you're all thinking why 🤷♂️🤷♂️
11 years ago I started Rentacampa.com. after building and selling vw campervans for a few years, I bought myself a motorhome and decided to hire it out to cover some costs and thats how it all started.
Back in 2015, there were several large hire companies, but not many small, one man band set ups doing it, I found a gap in the market and built a hire business very successfully 😁
In 11 years, we have become a really well known company, survived through covid, kept expanding and got to where we are now, we have one of the largest following on Facebook for a motorhome and campervan hire company and very well established, 100's of 5 star reviews and recommendations etc.
So now you're thinking why the heck would I sell.
Several reasons really. Let me list a few.
Ive reached my goal with the business,
what I mean by that is, it now basically runs itself, I dont really have to do anything, lots of customers are now regulars, I dont spend anything on advertising, as I say to most of my customers, all I am is a cleaner and do some paperwork. Phone rings, I book people in and thats about it really. I really feel that I need to do something else now
Family
For probably 7/8 years, throughout the main peak season/school holidays etc, ive worked nearly every weekend and school holidays, now my little Nancy is at school (yes she's now 5 😲😲) libby is 12, I want to spend more time with them, go on holiday with them, instead of my wife taking them without me etc
Looking into the future
I have quite a chunk of money tied up in the business, im not one for borrowing money, I own all the vans, business owes nothing (not a bad position to be in 😁) but im nearly 50. Young you may say and it is, but without going into detail, my dad passed around 25 years ago, he was 56 and nothing wrong with him. This is always something in the back of my mind and that money could be there for a rainy day for my wife and family,
My son brad
So proud of him, hes 19, we have set up his own business over the last 6 months and hes absolutely smashing it. His passion is cars and i know hes going to follow in my footsteps with his own business ❤️❤️
So that basically explains why i want to sell Rentacampa.com.
Ive got a plan of what I want to do, i set up Motorhometracking.com last year, this is going really well, it gets me out the workshop and makes me use my brain abit 😁 I would like to push this more now, ive got some other ideas to 😁
So Rentacampa.com. this is my plan.
I'm going to advertise the business for sale. It can be sold in a couple of ways.
Sell the job lot, the motorhomes and campervans all together along with the rentacampa name, website, social media, contacts the lot, so basically a business ready to go, straight to earning
Sell the name, and all that comes with it (this is probably the way it will sell) i know the value of the motorhomes etc, but a well established business could expand another hire business over night, or you could easily start with a couple motorhomes and grow like I have with a massive head start, a great investment opportunity 👍🏻👍🏻
One thing that will not happen and ill guarantee this.
While ever I own rentacampa, it will still be operational
If it doesn't sell (ill be honest, I have no clue if it will or even its value)
Ill scale down for 2027, run a couple of vans, let it tick over and give myself time to concentrate on other projects. This puts money in the bank (just in case) and ill give myself weekends off 😁
I hope that all makes sense, ive been thinking what to put for a while now and hopefully you all understand my position.
Ill advertise it properly soon but for the mean time, if you fancy being your own boss or expanding your current hire business, get in touch. I'm very willing to show someone the ropes, work along side me and see exactly what's involved with running a hire company 😁
Obviously all the accounts are available for anyone genuinely interested 😁 nothing to hide, makes more profit year on year etc
Its took alot to write this but i feel the time is right to pass this on to someone else if anyone maybe interested
