How and why covid spreads indoors, why numbers are rising and why the restrictions on visiting other households are in place and should be followed.
Please take a few minutes.....
A room, a bar and a classroom: how the coronavirus is spread through the air The risk of contagion is highest in indoor spaces but can be reduced by applying all available measures to combat infection via aerosols. Here is an overview of the likelihood of infection in three everyday scenarios, based on the safety measures used and the length of exposure

Missing cat in the estate. Ginger and white tabby missing after heavy rain yesterday. Might have sought shelter in garage or shed and been locked in??
Please share and check sheds etc. He's chipped but no collar and being missed by his owners.
Thank you.
At 5am this morning (1st September 2020) someone was attempting to break into various cars in Smithfield Meadows.
Can you
a) check to see if your car has been damaged or anything taken?
b) Check around your property for other valuables, things in the garden, and also from the garage too.
If anyone has any CCTV can you check it between 445am and 5:30am and if anything on there, please let the Police know.
If you have had an incident, please call 101 and report it. The Police will follow up.
We've not used this page in a long long time as it wasn't needed.
Is it needed now?
Do we need it to help each other through this new Virus Crisis by becoming a little community or are there enough FB pages emerging already?
Not sure this page is even followed any more so no replies here will answer the question I suppose...

Hello folks - it's been a while....
Some interesting news that will have an effect on our estate which is why we've awoken the page.
There is talk of a huge development planned for the field next to us to the west (the field to the left as you take the walk towards Cambus). Stirling Uni might be building as part of the City Deal funding. A research and possible training centre.
The site was previously proposed as a mixed use estate with 300 houses plus others - not sure if that's still a current option or not. Page 3 of the link below refers.

There is a community council meeting at the town hall next Tuesday which will be open to the public and it may be discussed. Keith Brown, Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Jobs and Fair Work, will be attending. I'm told questions about this will be asked.
If we hear more we'll report. If you have any info you can share on this please comment below.

Dear All,
I've had a busy twelve months fighting cancer. I have returned back to work but I have further treatment planned over the next few months. (See https://bravetheshave.org.uk/shavers/john-allan/)
At the weekend I met up with Gary D'Arcy. Our campaign to secure an effective factoring arrangement is in place and is working effectively. It has saved every home owner on the Smithfield Bellevue site £640 with a further £160 per year saving.
Final Breach notices have been issued with an invitation to those home owners to clear their debts. If you are thinking about moving address, you should ask your solicitor to write to me to confirm your account position. I will respond with the letter of confirmation that will help clear at least one obstacle to a smooth house sale transaction.
The only things that remain are
•Arrange the Owners Association Meeting (to be confirmed, expected early November '15)
•Decide what to do with the balance of monies.
•Conduct an election for new officers (Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary, Depute Chair.)
The road to achieve this was torturous, but together, we did it. Thank you to you all for your continued support.
John.
John Allan Last October, I went to the doctors to see if they could prescribe something stronger to shift a cough I'd had for a few weeks. Four hours later I found myself sc****ly clad…
Gary here - this page has not been used for almost a year and as I feel it achieved what we wanted it to at the time, I think it's time we closed it down. Let me know if you feel a burning objection to this, otherwise I'll close it up.
Gary here - has anyone noticed their hot water from the tap is hotter than usual?
I've had concerns for a couple of weeks that my water pressure into the house was not what it once was so I asked Scottish Water to check.
They have this morning and both pressure and volume are well above the minimum required. But I got the impression that it's less than it was as SW are undertaking 'pressure management' reducing pressure in some areas.
I suspect we might be one of those areas. He gave me this leaflet -

Gary here - I see some planting happening today along the Smithfield Loan side and the path from there into the estate. This comes off the back of clearing that was done yesterday and the additional trees put in last week. Will get a schedule of works so we know what else to expect but certainly this year it will look considerably better. Some areas still very bad with litter and will see how that's taken forward.
John and I both busy at the moment but will be getting together in the next couple of weeks to finalise and start the first round of court actions. As agreed we will be writing to each of the owners who have outstanding payments giving them their final 30 days notice before lodging claims with Alloa Sheriff Court. Also will update all owners with the results and news from the meeting etc.
Will keep you posted.
Gary here - well, what a meeting tonight. Great turn out so thank you to all who were there and those who forwarded proxy votes.
John will issue a complete report in due course to everyone but as a quick summary we....
Agreed to the contract with the council for them to carry out the maintenance of the common areas going forward and paid them £21,968 balance for that.
Agreed to pursue the 10 (now 9) households that are outstanding on their payments through the courts. This will commence 30 days after they have been notified of our decision to allow them a final opportunity to settle their debts.
Agreed to formally sack Property 2 as Factor (not withstanding their dubious appointment to start with) and to investigate and report back to owners on the options for a legal pursuit of the repayment of the factors float of just over £8,000 paid to them.
There were other discussions which will be covered in a more detailed update including our financial situation etc.
