UPDATE 1500: All mains power is restored, no outages occurred across the network.

Situation Report: The network is online throughout, although a power cut in Drinan means we are running on battery power there. If the site runs out of power, connections that are not direct will re-route, but Tokavaig and some Ord customers will be offline. The power went off at 5am and is expected to be restored at 8pm, so there will probably be an outage later on today if you are connected through Drinan. Pass on the message to your neighbours!

Just restarting the Skyenet management/ monitoring server up here at Beinn Mhialairigh. I've have a proper look when back home but the network looks OK. Some storm that last night!

We have had a number of very close lightening strikes to our masts but at least the core masts for Skyenet are up, as are the majority of customer connections. We will assess damage tomorrow morning. Let us know if you are offline either (message rather than post a comment) here or send an email to [email protected].

Our here on Beinn Mhialairigh. Plenty wild beasts on the hill today! Just making a few wee changes to our radio frequency use and installing a new VPN server for slightly easier remote management than the current setup.. apologies for the few seconds outage for Drumfearn and Heaste, we were just moving both radios onto new channels to free up some spectrum for HUBS, who have been going slow here for the last week.

We don't often show the network mapped out, but here it is (minus Aird). Originally we had a mast on Rum, and we built the Loch Dougal mast (second bottom) to replace this, which is our only off-grid site. The network hasn't changed layout other than that since we built it in 2015. We plug into the West Highland Internet Exchange (WHIX) at the two most easterly points on the map, Mallaig and Beinn Mhialairigh; where we hand over to a company called HUBS who take us down to Edinburgh, to one of the big Internet Exchanges in Scotland. Just in case anyone is interested! đŸ˜„

Caught a nice gap in the showers to install a new monitoring server for Skyenet at Beinn Mhialairigh, looking over Loch Hourn. Lovely up here!
