AND HERE’S ANOTHER TIP TO ADD ON TOP… because you’ve got to take your time, I recommend getting your headphones on and either listen to some music, or if you’re anything like me, whack a movie on 🥰 It’s utter bliss 🙌🏻

The Technique! ⬇️
I know a lot of you will remember playing the game Snake on your Nokia 32 or 3310 back in the 90s/early 2000s - I’m really showing my age here 😝 And this is no different!

I pencil the surface which helps me keep track on where I’ve been, then I simply start in bottom right corner and move left with the sander, then shift over when I get to the other side, then move right, all the way to the top, then back again. I do that again. Then I go across the grain, maybe once or twice, then always finish going with the grain 🙌🏻

And that’s it, you’ll end up with a beautifully flat top that’ll feel and look like it’s been through a wide belt drum sander 🥳

IT’S ALL IN THE DETAILS THAT… turn standard furniture in to “Ooo DAYUMN, that looks GOOOOOOD!” 😜

I loved making these somewhat small and custom details on this Tall Boy Wardrobe! If you haven’t already, try them out on your next build, save this post so you don’t lose it 😉

DETAILS ARE ⬇️

A shadow gap between the legs and the main body of the wardrobe. Wooden runners on the drawer, plus a custom drawer stop so no toesies get bashed. Wicked leg details that wrap around the front and side, that was fun to get my head around. The four sliding dovetails on the doors (2 each) with a lovely little door stop that swoops out. Easy peasy, Bobs your Uncle and Fanny’s your Aunt. That’s a weird phrase I know 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣

EVEN MORE DETAILS‼️⬇️

THIS IS ‘THE MONKEY CLAN CHALLENGE’ So the first thing I know you’re thinking…

“Do I need to be an expert?”

No you absolutely don’t, I’ve designed this coffee table in a way that a pure BEGINNER can do it, as long as you just show up for yourself 🙌🏻

“Do I need loads of tools?”

Nope! You don’t even need milling tools, you’ll see on my website what pre milled wood to get from you local timber yard! You’ll need minimum a circular saw/track saw, router, drill, the usual line up basically, if you have a table saw it would make your life a little easier for you though 😜

“Do I need to be in the workshop 8 hours a day?”

No way! We have lives and we want to spend time with family which is super important, but this build is EASILY done in short bursts over the 30 days! 20 minutes here, half an hour there, you’ll make it work around your schedule 🙌🏻

“Is this available worldwide?”

HELL YES IT IS! The more the merrier, although there is limited capacity, so when tickets go live on Tuesday 15th September, you’ll have to be quick to grab yours 👊🏻

WHO KNEW THAT FURNITURE COULD BE MULTIFUNCTIONAL 😝 Of course multifunctional furniture has been around for centuries now, so this is nothing new…

But none the less a fun project and build for a friend of mine last year! 🤩

THE FINAL PIECE OF THE PUZZLE!!! 🥳

I know I’ve been teasing you lot for a few weeks now but it’ll all be worth it, I promise 😜
