Another beautiful vessel by has recently arrived in the gallery.
What makes this piece particularly special is the natural markings of the spalted beech which almost look as though they’ve been drawn by hand. Fine cuts have been deliberately made into the turned wood allowing it to move as it dries. The result is the subtle twisting, warping and waving that gives the piece its earthy, organic form.
It’s a striking sculptural piece. Pop into the gallery if you’d like to see it in person or take a closer look on our website.

Silver with 18ct gold detail pendant earrings set with psilomelane handcrafted by Michele White.
The name psilomelane comes from Greek roots meaning "smooth" and "black," which perfectly describe its typical surface and color. Psilomelane is not a single mineral, but a mixture of manganese oxides, which gives it a complex and variable composition.
No two pieces of psilomelane are exactly the same making each gem one of a kind and these earrings very special. They are available now at Artisan Alchemy Gallery.

Carved from a single piece of oak, this striking wing sculpture is shaped by the artist’s intuitive process and the natural character of the wood. Beginning with a rough outline, the form was gradually refined to emphasise the organic curves and contours inherent in the timber.
Expert staining and controlled burning techniques enhance the grain, creating a sensuous contrast between warm blonde highlights and deep charred browns.
Mounted on a sleek steel base, the sculpture appears to hover just above the surface, making it a captivating focal point in any space.
Part of our exclusive range of contemporary homeware this piece is available in-store and online.

These bowls by Moth and Mirror are a fusion of the textures and sheen of lush wood with the fire and light of exquisite precious metals. The result is something that’s a little bit of alchemy, a lot of luxury and entirely desirable.
The bowls have been hand turned by Richard Anthony Mills, a wood turner with many years of experience and then gilded by Lenore Zavitz, a professional gilder and gilding restorer. The woods and metals have been carefully chosen to complement each other and each piece is finished to the highest quality to emphasise the natural beauty of the wood and magic of the precious metal.
Call in to the gallery to see the beauty and craftmanship of these bowls in person.

Seeing as there is a partial solar eclipse this evening, we thought it would be a timely reminder of the striking eclipse cabinet we have on display in the gallery.
Brave, bold and beautiful, the Eclipse cabinet is where furniture meets art. It features a circular pattern with lighter hues radiating outwards from a black centre to create the effect of a solar eclipse. It’s achieved by stack laminating fumed and unfumed chestnut veneers to form a solid block, while the black tone of the wood gives the cabinet a sharp silhouette, creating a striking contrast with the eclipse’s bright halo.
The curved legs, cast from blackened bronze, mirror the layered pattern on the doors and bring a hint of Art Deco glamour to the piece. It certainly makes a statement and adds a cool, cosmic edge.

These long leaf earrings by Mizuki Takahashi/高橋みづき combine delicate oxidised silver outlines with contrasting black and white enamel discs.
The enamelled discs are individually decorated by hand, drawing on Mizuki’s mark-making practice of lines, dots, patterns and textures. The firing process introduces an element of unpredictability, meaning each surface has its own slightly different character.
Long and sculptural but light to wear, the open silver leaves bring a lovely sense of movement beneath the enamelled tops. Available now at Artisan Alchemy Gallery.

Werther Side Table in quilted sapele and ebonised oak · Ø 34 × H 57 cm
Wondering why this side table is called Werther?
Well, with its solid quilted sapele top, rich caramel tones, softly rounded edges and smooth lacquered finish, it reminded the maker of the classic Werther’s Original sweet. And that’s how Werther was born!
Four hand-turned sapele pillars raise the top above a simple ebonised oak base, its clean, dark lines creating a striking contrast with the warmth of the sapele grain.
It’s a one-of-a-kind piece that celebrates the natural beauty and character of timber, now on display in the gallery and online.
