The antique brings the history. The stone sets the tone.

Soft veining that lets the furniture take centre stage. Warm shades that pick up the colour of the grain. A bold pattern that gives the whole piece a different presence.

Choosing a worktop is part of composing your bathroom: how it looks against the timber, catches the light and sits alongside your tiles and brassware.

Our stone collection gives you room to make those details your own. We’ll help you find the combination that brings them together.

An antique’s next chapter begins long before it leaves our workshop. Seeing it settled into a customer’s home is when that story comes together.

With its carved detailing, warm timber and distinctive ironmongery, Nicola’s vanity brings its own character to the room.

Her kind words recognise both the individuality of the furniture and the care taken throughout the process. Clear communication matters to us, from the first conversation to the finishing details.

Thank you, Nicola, for sharing your home and your experience with us.

Meet James. From Peterborough.

Since joining Revival, James has discovered a love for bringing old furniture back to life. What began as an interest is becoming a craft, learning new techniques, understanding the materials and developing the skills to preserve the character that made each piece worth restoring.

For James, it’s about building a future doing something he loves. For our customers, it means another pair of hands that cares about the history coming into their home.

Outside the workshop, you’ll find him cooking, enjoying family walks or adding to his ever-growing collection of accents.

His favourite Geordie expression? “Why aye man!”

Between James from Peterborough and Julian from Essex, we’re slowly converting the whole workshop.

Furniture remains our speciality. 🤣

Before running water, there was music.

This oak vanity once housed a 1920’s wind-up gramophone. A turn of the handle, a record chosen and music became part of the room. Now, its richly figured grain and neatly framed doors bring that history somewhere rather unexpected: the bathroom.

Carefully restored and adapted in our workshop, it pairs a softly veined stone worktop with a white bowl basin and a warm brass-toned tap. Behind the doors, space for plumbing sits alongside useful essential storage.

Compact in scale, with a past far bigger than its footprint.

Made to order for the customer who saw a bathroom centrepiece in a cabinet built for sound.

Designed by the Ages. Reimagined just for you.

Part 4 - Restoring The Victoria

With the structural alterations complete, it’s time to bring out the character of the timber.

In this next stage of the restoration, stain develops the colour and defines the grain across the frame, doors and drawer fronts, highlighting the details of the original wood.

The Revival mark is then added to the back before a protective lacquer is sprayed across the unit, including the legs, underside and internal areas. This coating helps protect the timber from moisture and everyday wear as we prepare it for its new purpose as a bathroom vanity.

Another step towards giving a genuine antique a new life, with its character intact.

Follow along to see the transformation continue.

The finishing details, chosen by you.

An antique brings its own character. The stone we pair it with adds another layer, complementing the timber, the finish and the room it will call home.

Four new stone options will soon join our worktop collection, offering more scope to personalise your bespoke vanity. From delicate veining to bolder patterns, each brings a different feel to the finished piece.

Made by Ercol. Reimagined by Revival.

Open a drawer and the story continues. Dovetail joints, richly grained timber and the quiet details of furniture made to be lived with.

With decades of history in its solid elm, this piece has been carefully restored and adapted for a different daily ritual. Its panelled doors and gently shaped apron bring warmth and character beneath a crisp white, softly veined worktop.

A sculptural basin, traditional crosshead tap and brass-toned cup handles complete the transformation, with a matching towel ring tucked neatly to one side.

Once a sideboard. Now the centrepiece of a bathroom, individually finished for the customer who saw its possibilities.

The burn had ruined the top. It hadn’t finished the table.

When this customer’s dining table arrived at our workshop, years of wear and a substantial burn mark called for a closer look. The damage went beyond what refinishing could put right. The top couldn’t be saved—but the rest was well worth keeping.

So we made a new one.

Crafted to suit the original table, carefully stained to match, then sprayed with a clear satin lacquer for protection and a soft sheen. The skill was in making the new feel as though it had always belonged.

Back to everyday life. Plates, conversation, elbows on the table.

Have a piece you’re reluctant to part with? Let’s see what’s possible.

The smallest marks can reveal a hidden chapter.

On antique furniture, tiny holes can be traces of historic woodworm—a detail worth investigating, rather than a reason to overlook a beautiful piece.

So, how do we tell old marks from current activity? Newly appearing holes with clean, pale edges, fresh fine dust or emerging beetles can suggest activity. Darker, worn holes may be historical, but appearance alone isn’t proof—careful inspection and monitoring help establish the difference.

Where needed, appropriate treatment and addressing damp conditions come before repairs. Small surface holes can be filled and colour-matched, while weakened sections may need matching timber carefully pieced in to restore strength.

The real craftsmanship goes deeper than the finish.

Every piece we restore is one less piece of history lost.

Before the basin, the taps and the bathroom, there was a piece worth keeping.

Beautiful proportions. Distinctive timber. Details shaped by the hands of an earlier craftsman.

Our antique bathroom vanities begin with furniture that already has a history. We restore, repair and thoughtfully adapt each piece, making it practical for modern life while keeping its individual character at the heart of the design.

A new place in your home. A continuing place in history.

Every piece we restore is one less piece of history lost.
