Our clients love to cook, so the layout was planned around a professional range cooker, with generous worktops either side and an island close at hand for preparation and serving. Every cupboard and drawer was placed where it would be needed, not where it simply fitted.

The beauty is in the detail.

This kitchen is our Classic In-Frame Shaker, given a more considered finish: a beaded front frame for a fine, crisp edge, with soft mouldings set within each door to add depth, shadow and that unmistakable handmade character up close.

In a room with proportions this generous, detailing like this gives the eye something quiet to settle on as it travels across the space. Crafted by our cabinetmakers in our own Essex workshop.

At the heart of this open-plan Nazeing kitchen, our cabinetmakers built a timber island with framed doors, topped with a sweeping curved worktop. Choosing a colour that suits the light.

With windows reaching up into the gable, this room is bright from morning to evening, so the cabinetry was painted in a soft buttermilk that stays warm rather than stark as the light changes. Small details complete it: polished k***s, framed doors and cornice-topped tall units.
