It's a question we're asked quite often, and the answer is no, not necessarily!

We've helped customers find mattresses they absolutely love at all sorts of price points.

Of course, more expensive mattresses can offer things like higher-quality fillings, more intricate construction and additional features. But that doesn't automatically mean the most expensive mattress in the showroom is the right one for you.

Someone might be perfectly comfortable on a £200 mattress, while somebody else might prefer the feel and support of one costing considerably more.

The important thing is finding a mattress that suits you, your sleeping preferences and your budget.

That's why we always encourage customers to come in and actually try different options rather than choosing purely on price or specifications.

And if you tell us what you're comfortable spending, we'll happily show you the best options within that budget.

“Do I actually need a new divan base, or can I just replace the mattress?”

We get asked this a lot — and the answer is not necessarily.

If your existing divan base is still in good condition, supportive, the correct size and suitable for the mattress you're buying, you may be absolutely fine keeping it and replacing the mattress only.

But we'd be more cautious if your base is older, damaged, sagging or no longer providing even support. Putting a lovely new mattress onto a base that's seen better days isn't going to do it any favours.

There's also no harm in asking us.
Tell us what you've currently got and we'll advise you whether we'd recommend replacing it.

Sometimes the answer genuinely is “keep your base and spend your money on the mattress.” 🛏️

We'd much rather you bought what you actually need.

“This one's got more springs, so is it better?”

It's a question we're asked quite often — and the answer isn't quite as simple as the number on the label.

Spring count can tell you something about how a mattress is constructed, but more springs doesn't automatically mean a better mattress for you.
The spring system is only one part of it. The fillings, upholstery, construction and overall feel of the mattress all make a difference.

That's why you'll see mattresses in our showroom with all sorts of spring counts — and we wouldn't tell everyone to simply choose the one with the biggest number.

Our advice? Use the specification to understand what you're buying, but use your body to decide what feels right.

That's why trying a mattress properly is so important. 🛏️
