"I can see all the effort I put in as a volunteer, having a positive impact on the community."

Read Andrea's story. Andrea is one of our wonderful charity volunteers who helps sort, tidy and display our wide range of preloved clothing at Emmaus Bolton.

Andrea shares why she volunteers for our homelessness charity and there's a link to how you can too at https://emmaus.org.uk/bolton/story/andreas-story/

Huge congratulations to Emmaus Bolton volunteers Rebecca and Hazel whose positive contributions were recognised at the Royal Garden Party, attended by Their Majesties the King and Queen.

The pair upcycle materials from our charity Scrap Store into beautiful saleable items, and were instrumental in creating hundreds of draught excluders for people in need over two Bolton winters.

Rebecca, who has volunteered for Emmaus Bolton for five years, said: “Going to the Royal Garden Party was a huge privilege. It’s a fantastic feeling to be part of a group of people representing charities they believe in.

“You don’t seek recognition when you volunteer, you do it because you want to. Being recognised like this was lovely.”

Hazel said: “The whole day was amazing and something I will never forget. I would like to thank everyone at Emmaus Bolton for putting me forward.”

The Queen is the Royal Patron of Emmaus UK and traditionally visits Emmaus communities across England, Scotland and Wales.
