Bernard injured, Lowe red carded in Owls shocker

Wednesday turned in a shocker of a display in a 2-0 defeat at struggling Notts County tonight. If we were expecting an Owls side full of confidence after Saturday's emphatic 5-0 success, we were soon brought back down to earth with the unchanged side looking sluggish almost from the first kick ... and it just got worse as the 90 minutes unfolded....

Owls aiming to stretch unbeaten run

Wednesday go to Notts County this evening looking to make it 10 games without defeat in all competitions. The comprehensive 5-0 win over AFC Wimbledon on Saturday lifted us up into sixth place in the League One table, two points behind leaders Bradford City but with a game in hand. Henrik’s praise after five-goal display

Wednesday gave their best performance in recent weeks with a convincing 5-0 victory over AFC Wimbledon at Hillsborough this afternoon. The end-of-match statistics for Wednesday of 25 shots, with 11 on target, while Wimbledon managed seven efforts but none on goal, underlined our superiority in a win that takes us back up to sixth on 18 points, two behind League One leaders Bradford City and with a game in hand on them....

Max Lowe eyes return as Owls look for three points

Max Lowe could be back in the Wednesday starting line-up for tomorrow's home clash with AFC Wimbledon. The influential defender has been sidelined since early season after picking up an injury in training but Henrik Pedersen said today that Lowe has trained well this week and that could signal his return to the squad. Davis Keillor-Dunn will be vying for a place in the starting line-up after impressing as a second-half substitute at Huddersfield and Liam Cooper is fit to play following the kick to the head he suffered in the lead up to our penalty equaliser against the Terriers....

Former Owl, Keith Ellis, dies aged 90

Former Wednesday forward, Keith Ellis, has passed away, aged 90. Sheffield-born Keith made his Owls debut in March 1955 when we defeated Preston North End 2-0 at Hillsborough and, although his early career was interrupted when he was called up for National Service, he went on to hit 60 goals in 118 games. Keith enjoyed a prolific period at the start of the sixties as Wednesday finished fifth and then runners-up in what was at that time the top-flight Division One....

Lowe on the spot to complete unlikely fightback

Wednesday somehow salvaged a point with two late goals in a 2-2 draw at Huddersfield this afternoon. Henrik Pedersen called our first-half display "unacceptable", it took us an hour to get an effort on goal and it wasn't until the final 15 minutes, with Huddersfield seemingly happy to defend their two-goal lead, that we began to threaten their goal. We took full advantage of that nervousness, pulling a goal back on 88 minutes when Ibane Bowat headed into his own net from Jaden Heskey's cross into the box....
