Combining twelve pieces of solid curly maple, the Patch coffee table’s organic top highlights the standout figure of each board. Its softly rounded form sits on an irregular solid cherry pedestal made up of 8 sides and taking 16 varying compound angled cuts to create.

A tale of a tall & short boy
I really enjoyed making these two pieces, utilising a couple of boards of maple with particularly lovely heartwood.
The tall boy stands—well, tall—making the most of its height and packing in plenty of storage. The short boy, not to be outdone, keeps things simple, tucked under a windowsill where the sun can shine into the room, showing off the contrast between the white maple and its darker heartwood.
