Bright Joinery Covering all aspects of Carpentry, Joinery and Furniture. Bright Joinery and Carpentry is a local, friendly, family run business based in North Cornwall.

We cater for all your handmade woodwork needs in and around North Cornwall and further afield. Operating from our new, spacious, purpose built workshop Nr Bude in Cornwall, we can undertake all your timber based products for you home, business and lifestyle. Using environmentally managed sources we are able to work with softwoods and hardwoods as well as man made materials to complete your projects whether ultra contemporary or more traditional classic designs.

There’s something special about hearing back from a client once the dust has settled.

Rattling in the wind. Painted shut since the nineties. A draught you can feel from across the room.

It’s the most common thing we hear from owners of older homes, usually followed by: “We were told the only option was uPVC.”

It isn’t.

What you’re seeing here is a set of traditional box sash frames taking shape on James’s bench. Each pulley stile is cut to the exact opening it’s going into, because period houses rarely have two windows the same size. Look closely and you’ll see the pocket pieces cut into the stiles. They let the sash weights be reached years from now, so these windows can be maintained rather than replaced.

Designed, made, spray finished and fitted by the same small team in our North Cornwall workshop.

Before a single coat of finish goes on, every surface gets checked by hand sanded smooth, run over again, and checked once more for anything that shouldn't be there.

It's the step that happens weeks before anyone sees a finished piece, and it's the reason the finish looks right when they do.
