At Necessary Furniture, our mission is to support our local community. We offer affordable second-hand furniture at a suggested donation price.

As a self-funded,non-profit charity,we save hundreds of tonnes from landfill each year. Charity Number 1091602. Through the re-distribution of household goods, Necessary Furniture is making a positive contribution to the welfare of the disadvantaged in our community. We work in partnership with similarly motivated charitable organisations and agencies. Every year our activity saves thousands of perfectly usable furniture entering the waste stream only to become landfill.

💚 Happy Tuesday! We literally cannot move in here today! 😱 The warehouse is absolutely bursting at the seams AND we have another 6 van loads coming in today! 🚚🚚🚚

💛 PLEASE COME AND BUY SOME FURNITURE 🤣 I genuinely need to find some floor space before the next lot arrives! 🙈😂

💚 For those of you entertaining the kiddies during half term, we've got lots of FREE books for them to enjoy 📚🥰 And our Room of Knowledge is packed full of board games, puzzles and DVDs to keep them busy… because we know that half term can feel VERY long when the entertainment runs out! 🤣🎲🧩

💚 WELCOME TO NECESSARY FURNITURE! 💛

A big welcome to all our new and existing followers! Here's a quick reminder of how we work.

💚 We are a self-funded, non-profit charity. Everything is donated, but we still have bills to pay — rent, staff, vans and utilities. Your purchases help keep us open!

💛 Our Facebook posts often feature our more premium items, which are still bargains for their quality. These help subsidise our charity, but there's SO much more to discover in our warehouse, with 6 collection vans bringing in new treasures daily! 😍

💚 Come and browse in person or call to pay over the phone. For larger items, please bring your own measurements to ensure they fit. If an item doesn't fit on delivery, we offer an exchange only, not a refund.

💚 10,000 FOLLOWERS… WHAT A DAY! 💚

💛 Today we hit 10K followers on Facebook 🎉🙌 AND ITV featured us on the news! 📺 More about that tomorrow… 👀

💚 AND to top it all off, I had a phone call about something SO exciting that we’ll hopefully be able to offer you very soon! 🤩 More on that as soon as we can share!

💛 But amongst all these amazing things happening at Necessary, I want to take a moment to celebrate the people who make it all happen.

💚 My incredible team. A team with so much heart, so much passion and a genuine desire to help people. A team who go above and beyond, not because they have to, but because they CARE. 💚

💛 A team that people pop in to see just for a chat, a laugh and a little boost to fill their cup back up when it’s running on empty. And honestly, I get it, because they do exactly the same for me!

💚 There are mornings when I walk into the warehouse feeling a little low, and within seconds, one of them has me laughing. 😂 (See the last three photos for evidence! 🤣)

💛 THAT is what makes Necessary Furniture so special. Yes, we’re a charity. Yes, we sell furniture. But we’re also a team of people who care deeply about other people, and that is something truly special.

💚 I feel incredibly lucky to work alongside you all, and I honestly couldn’t thank you enough for everything you do, every single day.

💛 Thank you, team. You’re the absolute BEST. 💚🥰

And to everyone who follows us, supports us, donates to us, shops with us and pops in for a chat… thank YOU too! 10,000 of you! What a community we have! 💚💛🎉
