Every pattern has a story. Some of mine began long before I ever sat down to design them.

Growing up in Poland, with a Hungarian father, I was surrounded by folk traditions that still find their way into my work today. The embroidery, colours and details of traditional costumes have become a starting point for fabrics and wallpapers made for the homes we live in now.

My new blog post follows those threads from childhood memories and regional embroidery to woven textiles, decorative stripes and even costumes on the opera stage.

Swipe through for a little of the story, then follow the link in my bio to read the full post. ✨

Do you have a pattern or textile that reminds you of somewhere or someone?

Apparently, even my pumpkins come in a mix of patterns. 🍂

Stripes, speckles, mossy greens and warm orange… put them beside a pile of fabrics and you can see why I find Autumn so inspiring.

These are the things I love bringing into a home: natural textures, folk patterns, baskets of apples and fabrics that make you want to settle in. And Zola, of course, inspecting the styling before anything is approved.

What’s your little autumnal ritual at home? A few pumpkins, an extra throw, some candles or simply closing the curtains and getting cosy?

Does anyone else’s Saturday look suspiciously like a Tuesday… just with a longer dog walk? 🐾

A few studio chores, some sunshine with Zola, and the usual procession of fabric rolls travelling between the studio and the house. I carry them over for a photoshoot, take them back… then realise I need just one more. Surely that counts as a workout?

Working from home means life and work tend to mingle. There’s time for family, time for designing, and plenty of days when I do half a day’s work and leave the rest for something else. It just doesn’t always follow the calendar.

Sometimes I’m working on a Saturday and taking a little time off on a Tuesday. And when the sun comes out, Zola makes a very convincing case for downing tools. 🤎

Whether you work for yourself or simply have your own rhythm, do you like a routine or prefer to take the day as it comes?

My happy place… although I seem to have claimed rather a lot of them around the house. 🤍

This is just one of my little creative corners. There are other desks, other piles of samples, and surfaces that were probably intended for something other than fabric…

Working from home, the boundaries have become a little blurred. A wallpaper sample finds its way onto the wall, a favourite textile becomes part of the inspiration board, and an old cupboard fills up with colour.

Here, I’m surrounded by things I’ve collected and things I’m creating: folk art, postcards, brushes, patterns in progress and scraps I can’t quite bring myself to throw away. Something tucked away for years can suddenly spark a new idea.

My work has slowly taken over the house, but looking at this little corner, I can see why I let it.

Do you have a little corner that’s entirely yours—or do your projects tend to spread through the house too? Tell me about your happy place…✨

Stop playing it safe with solid colours and start embracing the power of pattern play.

Most people are afraid of clashing but these tips on mixing patterns will give you the confidence to layer like a pro.

Start with your „hero” pattern, usually the boldest print in the room and pull secondary colours from it for your accents.

Mixing stripes and florals is a classic design move that adds instant sophistication to any space.

If you are looking for home styling tips on mixing patterns, remember that texture counts as a pattern too.

Save this for your next room☝️

A little quiet here but busy behind the scenes! ✂️

I’ve been struggling to find time to post, so here are a few little snippets from the studio: colour combinations, layers of pattern, and a table overflowing with samples.

We also have a new intern lending a welcome pair of hands and helping bring some order to the ever-growing sample piles. There’s always plenty to do in a small business!

Which combination catches your eye—the soft pinks or the red and blue? 🤍
