Now that’s how you make an entrance.
The rotten old door had to go, but with the original frame buried into the existing walls, this was more than a straightforward swap.
In its place is a handmade, 60mm-thick mahogany door, complete with a new bespoke frame and glazing. All surrounding walls were patched up and made good, with a new threshold added to finish the job properly.
Traditional panel detailing and Victorian-style brasswork keep it true to the house. That pink gives it a bit of attitude.
A proper heavyweight entrance and a big statement on the Main Street.
