This room is one chapter of a larger story, where we made everything from the traditional Accoya sash windows and entrance door to the hallway, living room and sitting room joinery.

Here, the brief was cabinetry that felt as though it had always belonged in the house. We designed and built handcrafted cabinetry that flows through into the snooker room, with bespoke mouldings and panelling made to match the existing profiles of the home. Every piece was manufactured in our workshop and fitted by our own team, so the detail carries seamlessly from one room to the next.

The result is a space made for long evenings, finished with the same care as every other room in the house.

Meet the Maker: Chris Lagden, Workshop & Operations Manager 🎯

Chris’s love of the craft started at school, when a careers advisor pointed him towards an apprenticeship. He began in furniture making, moved into joinery and went on to spend 17 years with the same company, earning a reputation as the person you can always count on.

Today he keeps our workshop running smoothly, bringing serious machine skills, wide-ranging experience and a practical, get-it-done approach to every project. He’s also our qualified First Aider and looks after health and safety across the workshop.

His favourite part of the week? Monday mornings, believe it or not. The 7:30am team meeting is Chris’s moment to get everyone together, plan the week ahead and squeeze in a few jokes along the way.

Away from PMJ, he’s a family man spending time outdoors with his wife and two children, from football and horse riding to go-karting. He’s a big animal lover too, with some rather unusual pets over the years.

Superhero of choice: Batman. Superpower of choice: the ability to slow time down, because with a mountain of work on, there are never enough hours in the day!

Watching these being loaded up is quite a sight.

Here we have a project that was mainly ground and first-floor sash windows, all made up in a mix of configurations: individual windows, bay windows and corner arrangements where the windows meet and return around a corner.

To create the bay formations, we've used mitred corners on the returns, and some of the frames feature louvred sashes too. Each window has been finished with a base coat and two top coats of Osmo oil.

The large section sizes, substantial mouldings and sheer scale of these windows are a real showcase of the skill and experience within our team. It's exactly the kind of project we love: something a little different, rather than the same thing off a conveyor belt.

Tyler, Josh, Nathan and Harrison, along with the rest of the team, all pitched in to get everything out and onto the lorry. A real team effort to get these out the door, and we're proud of every single one.

This is a hands-on role within a busy manufacturing environment, working on high-quality bespoke joinery projects.

You will be responsible for producing accurate work from cutting lists and technical drawings, ensuring excellent standards of finish and attention to detail.

What we’re looking for:
• 3+ years’ workshop experience
• Confident with a range of machinery and hand tools
• Able to work from cutting lists and technical drawings
• Detail-driven and reliable

What’s on offer:
• 42.5 hours, Monday to Friday
• Optional paid overtime
• Competitive hourly rate, depending on experience
• A growing company with real opportunity
