Calico Interiors Interior Design Studio and Soft Furnishing Specialist As the fan-base grew, so did Calico Interiors.

It all began in 1981, when our founder, Pauline Nash, started a curtain and soft furnishing business from the comfort of her very own home. The business quickly garnered a reputation for creating beautifully crafted, bespoke soft furnishings and attracted an ever-growing queue of clients. Today, Calico Interiors works on both home and commercial projects all across the UK and resides at the rather glorious Lambsquay House, a former hotel in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire - and Pauline has a little more help these days. With our own team of talented makers and upholsterers, soft furnishings are still at the core of our business, but we’ve come a long way since those early years. From furniture to flooring, and even that vase for the shelf, we have everything you need to create your perfect space. Whether it’s just a simple pair of curtains, a new sofa, or a much larger scale project - our Showroom and Design Studio is run by an experienced team of designers, who are there to help you create the interiors you dream of.

Bringing the outdoors in, this light and airy kitchen and dining space takes inspiration from the garden beyond, with soft greens, crisp whites and light wood creating a seamless connection between inside and out.

A complete transformation, full of colour and character ✨

When our client purchased this property, they knew it needed a full refurbishment and had a clear vision to create a home that felt completely their own. Personality and individuality were at the heart of the design from the very beginning.

A statement headboard upholstered in Jane Churchill Fabrics sets the scene, paired with a matching divan base for a beautifully coordinated finish. Templeton Pink by Farrow and Ball adds warmth to the walls, complemented by Romo fabric curtains that bring softness and depth.

The bespoke bed throw and cushions were designed and made in our own workroom, with a commissioned ottoman in Linwood fabric, an armchair combining Warwick and Romo fabrics, together completing the look, and introducing even more personality.

The result? A bedroom that feels confident, considered and full of character, with comfort woven into every detail.

Lighting deserves a little more love!

When designing a room, it’s easy to get caught up in choosing the perfect furniture, fabrics and finishing touches, but lighting can be just as transformative.

From elegant table lamps to statement pendants, the right lighting doesn’t just serve a purpose, it adds atmosphere, creates warmth and can become a beautiful feature in its own right.

Because great lighting doesn’t just brighten a room, it helps bring the whole space together. ✨

A fresh new look for a much loved Bristol favourite!

We’re delighted to see Cosy Club Bristol reopen following it’s makeover, with beautiful new interiors bringing a fresh feel to this wonderful space.

Calico was proud to be part of the transformation, creating and installing Austrian blinds, pleated walling and wave curtains to help bring the new look together. From the softness of the curtains to the texture of the pleated walls, it’s the perfect example of how bespoke soft furnishings can help define the atmosphere of a space.

Thank you to the Cosy Club Bristol team for sharing this video and giving us a glimpse of the finished interiors.

And with Christmas (sorry, we said it!) just around the corner, our team is looking forward to visiting for our Christmas party and celebrating this fantastic space in person!

A little pop of colour can go a long way!

Adding colour and pattern doesn’t have to mean making a bold statement or transforming an entire room. Sometimes, it’s the smaller touches that make all the difference, a patterned fabric, a playful print or a splash of colour to bring a space to life.

As we head into the darker months, these little details are a lovely way to keep interiors feeling bright, inviting and full of character. Because sometimes, all a room needs is a little pop of something unexpected. ✨

One room. Two sisters. Two completely different spaces.

A central storage unit divides the room in two, giving each girl her very own corner: one in soft duck egg and sage, the other in blush and rose. Bespoke headboards, cushions, bed throws and toy boxes all made to measure in their favourite colours, with individual desks, chairs and pinboards so each has a place to study, create and play!

The panelling behind each bed tied the whole design together and makes each side feel like its very own little world!
