Achieving Painted Dovetails the Easy Way! 👇

How to Paint Dovetail Joints with FrogTape 🐸👇

1️⃣ Place the first tape line below the dovetail.
2️⃣ Add a second tape line on top of the first, aligning it with the top of the dovetails (see reel).
3️⃣ Face the drawer front towards you and score along the joints.
4️⃣ Repeat along the entire length and then along the edges of the tails.
5️⃣ Remove the sections of tape, press the remaining tape down firmly, and you’re ready to paint!

Tape or free hand - which would you try ?

I don’t have a steady hand when it comes to painting dovetail joints so I find using tape so much easier .

GOLD made easy ✨✨

Ever wondered how to get that gorgeous gold detail without the faff of gold paint?

This is one of my favourite easy ways to add a little ✨GOLD✨ to a piece.

Rather than painting with gold, I’ve used Gold Gilding Wax over a stencil to create this gorgeous Koi carp detail. 🐟✨

Gold paint can be a little tricky — it can smudge easily and you’re waiting for it to dry between coats.

Gilding wax? So much easier! 🙌

Apply it, work in a circular motion with your brush to bring out that beautiful metallic shine. And once it’s properly worked into the surface, it’s far more forgiving than wet gold paint.

So if you’ve ever looked at gold detailing and thought “I could never do that…”

YES. YOU. CAN. 😉✨
