Some ideas stay with you.
Over 20 years ago, I saw the extraordinary paper weavings of Edinburgh artist Jo McDonald. They sparked an idea: could a similar approach find its way into furniture?
The idea sat quietly in the background for years, waiting for the right project and the right opportunity.
With support from a VACMA grant last year, I was finally able to dedicate time to exploring the idea.
Delighted to be exhibiting the finished piece as part of A Seat at the Table with Visual Arts Scotland.

- The Ash Gallery Rail -
A response to the need for high- end mobility. A solid Ash clothes rail engineered to bridge the gap between permanent art and functional life.
Every connection is intentional: solid brass pins and contrasting Teak wedges provide the tension, while only four mechanical fixings are used in the entire assembly. It is a " Portable Heirloom" - designed to be assembled, lived with, and moved for a lifetime.
Concept - led. Studio built in Edinburgh.

BATCH 02. - TEAK TRAYS
The Remnants Collection consists of Studio pieces born from the finite materials of our primary furniture commissions.
We do not view these as surplus; rather, the character and dimensions of the remaining Teak dictate the final form. This process ensures that each object is an honest response to the timber itself—
