To all our customers,
Thank you for supporting Derby Bike PopUp in 2021, our first full year!
Once again I've had the pleasuring of servicing hundreds of bikes across the city including countless return customers, the best validation that we are doing something right. We've continued our partnership with Cycling UK's Big Bike Revival and formed a new collaboration with the wonderful folk at Spoke Out who do excellent work to support more girls, women and non-binary people to cycle.
We also took receipt of an impressive Tern Bicycles GSD electric assist cargo bike with support from Derby City Council which has supercharged our business.
As the year draws to a close I will be taking the next three weeks off and will be available for bookings again from mid-January 2022.
I hope you all have a lovely festive season and I look forward to seeing you in the new year.
Stay safe and happy cycling.
Hardy

Our summer collab with Spoke Out came to an end at the weekend with our final surprisingly sunny & warm Dr.Bike in Sinfin โ๏ธ
This means it is time to thank and say goodbye to Lucy from Spoke Out who has been the one behind the camera and the scenes managing our Dr.Bikes, workshops and these social media posts for the past few months.
Be sure to check out the great work she does, and prepare for less cat related content! ๐ฑ

We thought we'd dodged the heavy rain by moving our Dr.Bike from Saturday to Sunday but unfortunately we still got caught out โ๏ธ
It didn't stop us from fixing 6 bikes for free and enjoying an epic rainbow ๐
Thank you to those who attended for their flexibility, and for braving the weather!

We did it! ๐ฅณ
A massive thank you to all who have shown support, donated and who rode with us on Sunday ๐ฒ
The sun shone down on us all day as we completed the challenging 45km route to draw a Turtle Dove around Derby and raise money for Derbyshire Refugee Solidarity in the process ๐
We have smashed our fundraising target as well with a stunning ยฃ1125 raised so far! ๐ฎ
If you haven't donated already you can still do so, and find out more about the ride โคต๏ธ

Recently we were called out to fix a problem where the chain was falling off the jockey wheel in the low gears.
A deep clean of the drivetrain fixed the issue and Andy was good to go.

It was definitely worth waiting an extra week for the third stop in our Dr.Bike summer tour with the lovely Spoke Out at the wonderful Alvaston Park ๐ณโ๏ธ
Thanks to Shaun, Kamil, Leslie, Usman & Rachel (and her son Zack pictured below!) for bringing along their bikes to be fixed for free and to everyone else who kindly stopped by to say hello, including Jean on her electric tricycle! ๐

Over the past few weeks, we've been joined by some budding feline apprentices ๐ฑ
Their main area of expertise seems to be overseeing the work and checking the equipment, in exchange for being stroked.
