International Dog Day 🐶

Today, we'd like to shine a spotlight on Ravens Rescue UK shop. This fantastic local charity does incredible work supporting not only dogs, but a wide variety of animals in need.

Run by a team of dedicated, experienced volunteers, Ravens Rescue provides round-the-clock care, support, and medical treatment to animals that have fallen on hard times, helping them find the second chance they deserve.

With support from Stuart Bailey and our upholstery team, JDD has been proud to contribute by donating fabric for blankets, supplying foam offcuts to create pet beds, and sponsoring several fundraising events over the years. This year, we're delighted to be sponsoring the Fancy Dress Category at their upcoming dog show.

If you'd like to support this wonderful local charity, come along to the show on 6th September.

The reality is that a well-designed product rarely does just one thing.

Eve was developed to support workplace wellbeing through comfort, privacy and considerate design, but it's equally at home as a meeting space for teams that simply need somewhere to connect without distraction.

Available in 2, 4 and 6-seat configurations, Eve can be tailored to suit your space, including the option of a glazed rear wall for a lighter, more open feel.

We've also reimagined the table design to complement Eve's soft curves and architectural arches, creating a more cohesive and inviting environment.

For architects and designers looking to reduce the environmental impact of their projects, material choices matter.

That's why, during the development of Eve, we challenged conventional pod construction and explored alternatives to traditional PU foam. Instead, we incorporated needled wool, coconut husk and natural latex.

The result is a meeting pod that supports workplace wellbeing while taking a more thoughtful approach to materials, manufacturing and long-term sustainability.

16th year of JDD 🎉

This week marks 16 years since JDD was officially registered back in July 2010. What started as an idea between two friends has grown into a UK furniture manufacturer with a team of over 90 people, multiple showrooms, and a 35,000 sq ft production facility in the West Midlands.

A few facts we're proud of:

- 16 years since James and Joe put pen to paper and officially created JDD | Joint Design Direction.

- Launched JDD Labs, including a dedicated facility, for the exploration of innovative technologies.

- Completely re-imagined our London showroom for Clerkenwell Design Week 2026.

- Exhibited at Workspace Design Show 2026.

- Supported our local Brummie roots at Design Festival North.

- We've seen a 17% growth in revenue year on year.

- Signed for our new flagship Manchester showroom (can't wait to share more with you all).

- We have launched Eve, Archie, Charlotte, Luca, Luna 2 & 3 seat sofas, as well as Rita 2 & 3 seat sofas.

- Welcomed 15 new team members.

- Renewed our commitment to FSC, Made in Britain, real living wage, British Furniture Manufacturers, FISP and Seaqual.

Most importantly, thank you to our customers, dealers, suppliers and team members who have been part of the journey so far. Sixteen years in and it still feels like we're only getting started. The ambition, excitement and drive to improve are as strong as ever, and we can't wait to show you what the next chapter has in store.

Working closely with 2G Design & Build, we planned the showroom so that furniture, rather than walls, created structure. Breakout areas, sofa dens, planters, and flexible meeting rooms were used to define zones while keeping clear sightlines and a sense of flow. Every product and material choice was intentional, from the forms and textures we highlighted to the use of natural light throughout the space. Sustainability was embedded through practical decisions, including recycled and natural materials, acoustic solutions made from post‑consumer waste, and extensive planting to soften the environment and create a stronger connection between indoors and outdoors.

Our Terry banquette sofa takes centre stage of the 2 City West refurb, upholstered in a rich velvet from (Luxe). and worked closely with us - Mayan Christophides and Senior Interior Designer Jake Harris collaborating to refine its sculptural form, flexibility, and fabric application. Our 3D product configurator enabled us to visualise the end before anything was sent to production. A true example of partnership and innovation.

Working in partnership with , we were delighted to support the transformation of a well known renewable energy company's Perth office canteen into a space that feels as inviting as a café while offering the practicality required for a busy workplace. The goal was to design a stylish, comfortable, and highly functional dining area where employees could relax, connect, and recharge throughout the day.

Together, we developed a design concept centred around our Cedric low back banquette seating, chosen for its clean, contemporary profile and exceptional comfort. The Cedric range helped to create structure within the open-plan canteen, defining zones for dining and socialising. Cedric is available with a choice of bases, and for this project, a plinth was chosen, keeping the fabric off the floor, protecting it from vacuuming and mopping.

To help balance the aesthetics, our Fearne planters were added between seating areas - introducing greenery and a sense of calm that complements the overall design. Recognising the client’s focus on functionality, power modules were discreetly integrated into the banquette seating, allowing staff to stay connected and productive throughout the day.

Great workspaces don’t happen by accident; they’re built around how people actually work. That was the focus of our recent collaboration with Office Insight and PX Group, where we worked closely with their teams to create a space that balanced quiet focus with easy collaboration, while reflecting on PX Group's brand throughout.

From hands‑on product testing in our showroom to using our 3D configurator to visualise the final design, every decision was made with usability and comfort in mind. Thanks to our fully in‑house design and manufacturing, we also delivered on time, with no delays or compromises.
